It Starts with Home campaign launch at Government House

Dame Cindy hosted the launch of Dwell Housing Trust's 'It Starts With Home' campaign, which seeks to change the narrative around social and community housing in Aotearoa.

As an organisation, Dwell's goal is to create communities where people want to live, by establishing creative and sustainable housing and partnerships – and their new campaign highlights how stable, secure homes can be the foundation for personal success, wellbeing, and thriving communities.

As Dame Cindy remarked in her speech, underlying the importance of the Trust's ongoing work: 'Ko te whare e hanga te tangata, ko te tangata e hangaia e te whare. The house builds the people, and the people build the house.'
