Income Related Rent Subsidy (IRRS)
The amount of rent you pay is based on your income and the income of people you live with. The Ministry of Social Development (Work and Income) will work out how much you’ll need to pay.

It is important that you meet all your obligations with MSD as they have now introduced serious sanctions to those who do not and this could affect any payments you receive.
Affordable rentals
Residents in affordable housing will have their financial situation reviewed annually by Dwell.
The information that needs to be supplied to Dwell is as follows:
Financial records of all household members over the age of 18
Confirmation of MSD benefits
Annual income summary from IRD
Keeping informed
MSD publish all amendments and policy changes to their website.
